Buttery Fire Crackers

A Ritz Cracker by itself is pretty tasty, but if you want to make it extraordinary, try this recipe. I first tasted these crackers when a friend shared them as a snack at our quilt guild meeting. She was kind enough to share her recipe and I’m so glad she did! These buttery and spicy crackers are seemingly addictive and great on their own or as an accompaniment to soup - perfect with my Bloody Mary Veggie Soup recipe. Serve with a dip or on a cheese and crudités tray. In the photo above, I’ve paired these crackers with a lovely combination of cream cheese and Bonne Maman’s Four Fruits Preserves. Magnifique!

Buttery Fire Crackers

Yield:

  • approximately 120 crackers

Prep Time:

  • 10minutes

Cook Time:

  • 15 minutes

Total Time:

  • 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Ritz Crackers (13.7 ounces)

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick, melted)

  • 2 tablespoons Ranch Dressing powdered mix (about 1 package)

  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Empty all sleeves of the crackers into a large ziplock bag or a large mixing bowl.

Next, melt butter and add the powdered Ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, crushed red pepper and Parmesan cheese in a bowl.

Pour over crackers in the ziplock bag or large mixing bowl. Shake or stir gently to coat all crackers.

Spread on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Place in a 300°F degree oven for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and allow to cool.

Store in an airtight container.

Tips and Tricks:

If you’re curious about the dip in the center, I used cream cheese covered with Bonne Maman’s Four Fruits Preserves. Beware, it’s easy to eat these all in one sitting!
